The beautiful thing about Europe is that even the tiniest of regions have rich and unique histories and consequently intriguing and interesting heraldic symbols, sadly these symbols remain unknown to most outside the region itself, online there is no easy way to explore them, unless you're explicitly looking for them or going through a Wikipedia rabbit hole. That is why I created this website, a simple interactive map, that includes coats of arms from European countries, divided into administrative divisions.
This website includes over a 100,000 different coats from around Europe, divided by levels where the highest administrative division is Level_0 (country) and the lowest Level_3 (municipalities/towns). As the user zooms in, the layers switch dynamically from the highest level to the lowest. For performance reasons the coats are grouped into clusters, if you wish to zoom into a specific area without the layers switching, disable the "Dynamic layers" option in the menu.
I would love to continue the maintenance and features on this website, however, it takes a lot of time, money and effort, which I sadly do not have to spare. If you find this website interesting, please consider donating. Any amount helps tremendously and is greatly appreciated!
